The SPAR Group Ltd, is recruiting for a Category Controller at its Distribution Centre, PURPOSE: The purpose of this job is to provide administrative support to the Purchasing Manager and Category Manager including compiling and circulating certain daily, monthly, and annual reports, to assist the category manager with basic replenishment buying and ensuring that all day-to-day administration is maintained and updated
- Setting up the store at the start of the shift.
- Customer Engagement
- Operate electronic equipment
- Serving customers.
- Cleaning to a high standard.
- Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and accurately maintain all payment measures. Being able to work at a fast pace without error and issue the right amount of change.
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment
- which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer
- maintaining outstanding standards and solid product knowledge.
- Sufficient product and product code knowledge as well as maintaining an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
- Ensure that all money is accounted for. The need to balance tills daily.
- The ability to order change before the change runs low and in the correct quantities.
- Closing the shop at the end of the shift.
- Loading of daily stock received on Point of Sale system
- Checking of daily stock
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team
- Trading hours are Monday to Sundat 6am to 11pm, there is an early and late shift.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have experience in a similar role.
- Must be professional, courteous, and confident in the work environment.
- Serving customers, we work quickly and efficiently, aiming to serve customers as quickly as possible.
- Need to be able to work as part of a team.
- He / she will be working in a very busy environment therefore needs to be quick and confident.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
