REQUIREMENTS : Applicants have to be in possession of Adult Basic Education and Training(ABET) Level three Certificate (Basic training (literacy and numeracy)). A valid
driver’s licence (Code C1). Minimum of 1-year suitable experience. Job
related knowledge: Operating a tractor. Farming practices. Operating farm
ground enticing implements e.g. ripper, plough, tiller etc. Job associated skills:
Driving skills. Communication abilities (verbal and written). Willing to work
overtime.
DUTIES : Operate a tractor with a range of implements (such as ploughs, rippers, planters,
crop sprayers etc.) connected to aid with the bodily execution of various
general farming activities, via inter alia: Land cultivation. Planting. Tillage.
Harvesting. Transportation of a number of goods. Mowing of lawn. Application of
pesticides. Application of (chemical) manure / fertilizer. Irrigation and
maintenance. Firefighting. Cleaning of ditches. Fencing activities. Perform
vehicle protection and administrative assist things to do along with inter alia
the following: Ensure the secure storage, cleansing and movements preservation of
vehicle (e.g. altering tyres, checking water, oil, tyre stress etc.). Ensure the
safety storage, cleansing and pursuits renovation of implements. Maintain a
farm car month cease kilometres logbook and file accordingly. Ensure the
timely reporting defects to Mechanical Workshop in order to forestall further
damage. Assist with shelling out and receiving gasoline and oils. Perform routine
activities in recognize of crop production. Perform events things to do in appreciate of
infrastructure. Operate a specialised equipment (such as harvesters, drilling
equipment, excavators etc.) in recognize of: Loading and offloading goods.
Repair and preservation of farm roads. Remove any material, together with loading
and carting away.
